If you have the time and enjoy sake, do yourself a favor and visit Kyoto’s Sake District. There are plenty of Sake Tours available with English speaking guides. I was fortunate to have a friend that knew the area well who took me around to the large well-known breweries, as well as, some of the smaller “boutique” distilleries.
I was able to learn about the history and process of sake making, tried many different types of sake, and even met one of the master brewers.
I can’t wait to go back and do it all again.
