36 Hours in NOLA

Air boats, fried chicken, and the French Quarter. What else can you ask for? Had some leftover airline miles and instead of letting them expire.. I used them to check out the “Big Easy”. It was a last minute trip so I didn’t get to check out everything I wanted to, but it was nice preview of the city. I can see why people come back year after year.

The air boat tour was fun and I’m glad I opted for the “small” boat.. it’s more expensive but also way more nimble aka fun. The large boats were “cruisers” while our boat got to “fly” down the bayou. We saw some gators and learned about the waterways. Definitely recommend if you can fit it into your schedule.

Willie Mae’s Scotch House has been on my food “bucket list” for some time now. It may have been the determining factor in where I wanted to use my miles… (well that, jazz, and beignets) I think Willie Mae’s and Dooky Chase have a friendly rivalry for the “best fried chicken” in New Orleans.. and from my experience you can’t go wrong with Willie Mae’s.
