48 Hours in Arizona

With Thanksgiving around the corner, I wanted to take the week off from work and relax. Took a quick flight to Phoenix and indulged on some FANTASTIC barbecue. I’d argue that Scott and his staff have the best barbecue in the country. (That’s a bold claim, I know…)

Aaron Franklin certainly knows his way around the smoker and his food is amazing! BUT, if I had to judge the “overall” experience.. I think Scott does it just a tad-little-bit better. The beef ribs, turkey, sausage, brisket, and pulled pork are all delicious.. but you would be missing out if you didn’t get the Pecan pie. My goodness.. the pecan pie. I’d go back just for that.

Not to mention their service. When I told them I was heading back the next day, they offered to vacuum pack my leftovers for the plane ride home. That’s just service on another level. FYI.. I waited no more than 45 minutes from open at Little Miss versus the 6+ hours I would’ve waited at Franklin’s. Some say that’s a “right of passage” to good barbecue, I think that’s more time I could be eating. 🙂

So after getting my fill of protein and pie.. I jumped onto the interstate to fill up the rest of my time in Phoenix by making a stop at the Pima Air & Space Museum.

If you have any interest in planes or space travel, this place is gold.
